Our service is designed primarily for food waste collection, but you may also include yard waste in your bucket.

Meat, bones, and seafood
-
Fresh, expired, dried, cooked, raw, or processed foods
Plant & yard waste:
-
Plants and plant trimmings
-
Leaves and other yard debris
Brown, fiber-based materials. We believe these are more suitable for the recycling cart but if you must feed the worms:
-
Paper-based products
-
Bamboo-based products
-
Cardboard-based products
Please note: Many paper cups and plates contain a thin plastic lining and are not compostable.
Not Accepted
Bioplastics / compostable plastics
We do not accept bioplastics of any kind or brand. While many products are labeled “compostable,” it is often impossible to distinguish them from petroleum-based plastics once they enter the compost stream. This creates contamination that we do not have the capacity to process and compromises soil quality.
We still believe using bioplastics instead of traditional plastics is a positive step — even if those items ultimately go to the landfill.
Other contaminants include:
-
Stickers
-
Rubber bands
-
Gloves
-
Twist ties
-
Wrappers
-
Aluminum foil
-
Parchment paper
-
Plastics of any kind
-
Metal or glass
- Clothes
- Grass & plant trimmings sprayed with chemical pesticides or herbicides
